Accreditation of Reference Material Producers
INAB offers reference material producer’s accreditation to EN ISO 17034:2016 “General requirements for the competence of reference material producers”. This guide contains requirements for the competence of reference material producers and is used in developing a management system for quality, administrative, production, and technical operations.
Laboratories rely on the assigned property value of reference materials to produce reliable results and accreditation of reference material producers to ISO 17034 underpins the national measurement system by ensuring the reliability of the assigned property values and competence of these providers. Traceability to national and ultimately to international standards is a vital component of any economy.
INAB Accreditation Symbol
The Irish National Accreditation Board strongly mandates accredited organisations to use the accreditation symbol on their reports or certificates.
The accreditation symbol, ownership of which is vested in INAB, is a combination of the Board’s logo in association with the registration number and the accreditation standard. Reference is also made to the organisation’s scope of accreditation.
The use of the symbol is subject to strict criteria laid down in the INAB R1 Regulations.
