In 2000 the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) produced a publication G12:2000, Guidelines for the Competence of Reference Materials Producers, and in 2004 ILAC at its General Assembly adopted the following resolution:
As part of INAB Awareness Campaign, INAB conducted two surveys which targetted Irish Industry & Government (Phase 1) and End Users of accreditation (Phase 2).
IAF and ILAC have agreed an implementation plan to ensure a smooth transition of accredited certification to ISO 9001:2008, the latest version of the standard for quality management systems (QMS).
INAB has for many years used the EU NACE classification system for identifying areas of competence on schedules of accreditation for management systems certification bodies.
The 15th meeting of the EA laboratory committee took place in Athens on the 12th and 13th of March 2008. The meeting was attended by James Stapleton on behalf of INAB.
The 15th Meeting of the EA Certification Committee (EA CC) took place in Athens on 25th and 26th February 2008.
On January 22nd and 29th 2008, INAB hosted its 2nd INAB Assessor Forum in Dublin. INAB Assessors from Ireland, UK, Germany, Switzerland and Sweden participated.
A new EU Council Regulation, 1893/2006, on statistical classification of economic activities (NACE codes, version 2) was published in December 2006 and comes into effect on 1st January 2008 .
